Mission Statement
To introduce as many juniors to the lifelong game of golf and to develop the junior golfers’ knowledge, appreciation and skill in the game. We aim to instil in each junior golfer a sense of integrity and honour which are inherent to the game; this will include golf ethics and proper golf etiquette.
To expose the juniors to the pride that comes with individual accomplishment.
Junior Program
The junior program consists of three levels.
Bronze: - This is the beginner level; this level is aimed at teaching basic golf skills. The recommended starting age is 5/6; this is not set as hard and fast, selection depending on the child’s strength. Handicaps are as per AGU/WGA guidelines and the games are played on a shortened course of six or nine holes. Interclub competition is welcomed and fixtures are promulgated on the junior’s notice board.
Silver: - The next step up from the beginner division. Rules and intermediate golf skills are taught. Handicaps are as per AGU/WGA guidelines with the game played on full length nine hole course. Interclub competition is encouraged with the fixtures regularly posted on the junior notice board.
Gold: - Players who have developed the skills, attitude and physical capability of playing the full 18 hole course. Gold division players are handicapped as per the AGU/WGA guidelines and all gold division players are eligible for club adult competitions. Interclub competition is expected to further broaden the gold division players’ skills and abilities.

No clinic during school holidays.
Dress Standards for Juniors
Dress codes for new members is pretty relaxed, however we stipulate that the juniors wear a red coloured shirt with a collar, black shorts (skirts if girls want to) closed in sand shoes, they should bring a water bottle and a hat.
After your child completes a six month period of membership we expect the Junior member to be attired in a Gordonvale Golf Club Junior Division Polo shirt, black shorts/skirt and sandshoes/golf shoes, which is the uniform required for interclub competitions.
Parent’s Commitment
Parents are advised that the Gordonvale Golf Club requires you to be in attendance whilst your child participates in either the instruction or competition activities.
Clinic Costs
Parents are advised that clinic costs are $5.00 per visit or $50.00 per school term. A child's first visit to the Gordonvale Junior Clinic is free.
